i would also like to add that it has been claimed that this is the only rip in the industry that is more than 8 bits. Almost all large format service-burea-type printers of the past use dedicated "hardware" rips so their decision to use a pc rip is not unheard of. It will communicate with macs just fine and allows you to leave them free for the photoshop work. I am a mac person myself and personally would have programmed it for a mac but then the pc people would be yelling even louder. Also, in comparison, many rips out there cost many thousands of dollars and I am sure Jon Cone would put his rip up there with the best of them.
