well .. it looks like these are emails swappde in email lists ... and USENET
message groups -- which are grey areas as far as who can archive them  ..
and wether they are public/private communicatiuons ..

.. i'd go out on a limb and say that his work is no different than a mailing
list archive (like the one yahoo has) ..

.. did you know that google has an archive of USENET .. (very large one too)
.. so i'd say that that USENET or mailing list communication is a public
conversation..

... from a cursory look , it seems like he's done a lot of work to classifiy
them .. what a good resource.
