I get great results with the Piezo software and the MIS FS inks on my 1160.
Have you tried a slight curves adjustment in Photoshop? I generally adjust
my curve from 30 to 20 on one end, and 70 to 80 on the other. Your mileage
may vary. When I want it snappier I use the Woolf workflow. Haven't
noticed the dots.
