Since there are so many more Windows machines than Macs they and their common software are mostly targeted. Like you I went for years without ever having my virus detection software find anything but in the last couple of years of using it to monitor my e-mail has saved me (and everyone I send e-mail to) from being infected. I guess it is like health insurance. You pay for it and hope you never need it. I have no idea what the best package is for the Mac but I recommend you have something running. Martin
