I use the Eclipse 190 gsm Satine, but I don't use Krylon. I use Lumijet Imageshield, which is probably sold under other names. It's made in England according to the can. Cost- about 3x Krylon. It is a matte finish, and I guess it could lower the Dmax, but for the life of me- it goes on invisibly AFAIK on the Eclipse Satine. Tests strips look to my eye identical before fade testing. You're supposed to put it on in three coats sprayed in different directions, the first two light coats and the third moderate. I've never done south window tests with Satine (shame on me since it is my favorite paper), but on about five other papers including EAM, it retards noticably the warming of standard MIS FS and the old Piezo ink, whether the test strip is sitting in a light tight box or in my sunny Colorado South window.
