Hi all, Yesterday, my sample carts of MIS VM-sepia arrived, my very first foray into the world of black and white injet printing! I installed them into my 1280 and downloaded the MAC curves from the MIS site. I first tried printing with the vmm8-w.acv curve which should give a neutral print. My test print showed a lot of posterizing. Some cloud detail for completely disappeared. When i tried the slightly warm curve, vmm8-mw.acv, I did not seem to have this problem. The effect is noticeable on the monitor as soon as the curve is applied. When the vmm8-w curve is applied, clouds disappear and other parts of the image start to look weird, not so with the vmm8-mw curve. I havn't printed with the other curves yet, but when I apply then, the image looks reasonably OK on the monitor. I tried another image, a nude, and had similar results, with strong posterization during the transition of skin tones going from dark to light, as well as in the sky. What can i do? I am a real novice at this, I have set up my printer according to the instructions on the MIS site, photoshop 6 set up according to the information on Ian Lysons web site and I am printing on epson matt paper. thanks, mike
