Alan,
"very pleased" means that at 11"x14" prints will be "noticeably better" or
in the same league as 35mm@4000 <mailto:35mm@4000> dpi? Sorry if I am
picky, but I made the same question a couple weeks ago and didn't get a
clear answer.

It depends on how big your prints are and which method you use to print
them.
I think you will be very pleased with 2450 scanned 6 x 7's printed to 11 x
14 in quads.
