Tim,
I visited your site at your invitation and like your work. Very nice quiet images and well done web gallery.

There have been many messages/notes on these papers written over at the Piezo3000 list. Go over there and check back over the last few months for comments. Just use the "search" feature of the list and type in your paper names and you will get comments and profiles to use etc...

I think any of the Hahnemuhle papers would work fine for your images. I have never used the cotton canvases so cannot comment on them.

If I were limited to only one paper for fine art prints (from your list) I would choose the Torchon 285. It is not as smooth as Turner 300 but has a "handmade paper" look to it and print qualities I find very attractive. Albrecht Durer and Hahnemule 230 have a pronounced "watercolor paper" texture which is very apparent in a print. Torchon texture is subtle and "disappears" in the image. At least on all of my images.

Turner has a smooth surface that also has just a very fine coating texture that aids in hiding any "digital print" look. A little texture is a fine thing when doing the inkjet prints. Some papers are too smooth in my opinion.

Good luck and do go read the archives.

Steadman

Has anyone on this list used any of these papers? I would appreciate
knowing what inks you used with them and how you made out.

  1.Albrecht Durer 210
  2.Hahnemuhle 230
  3.Torchon 285
  4.Turner 300
  5.Hahnemuhle 100% cotton canvas 580
  6.Hahnemuhle cotton/poly canvas 575

I am considering using MIS or Generations inks with my 1280. Piezo is
also a possibility but cost is also a factor. I am an amateur
photographer and this is a hobby. If I could impose a little further,
my url is www.portraitsofnature.net, you can see from the images on
it the kind of images I will be printing. If any of you have
recommendations, based on the type of photography I do, regarding
inks and paper, please let me know. Thank you.

  Regards

  Tim
