Shaun, Antonis and I figured this would come up sooner or later and had been thinking about something later this fall. However, if you want to go for it by all means do. (For myself am hoping to hear from Jason regarding some of the logistical problems he had to go through.) Some thoughts: The purpose of the group is to explore all methods of getting a B&W image off a file and onto a piece of paper. The membership is rather inkjet heavy or at least it appears so from the posts. My idea was to have a print exchange but reserve a certain number of slots for various types of media. For a group of 30 I was thinking something like: 12 to 15 - pigment Quadra tones 5 - dye base Quadra tones 5 - CYMK ink set monochrome prints 5 - other These numbers are off the top of my head and while it would be really great if someone wanted to send 30 platinum prints from a digital contact neg, 30 LightJet prints, 30 silver prints from a digital negative, I am not holding my breath either. Who knows, perhaps there is a kind soul out their. My thought was to call for volunteers who have to choose a category. If some of the categories do not fill up by a certain date and there are surpluses in other categories then expand some categories and shrink others. The real potential here is to get a look at a wide range of media so I would like to see that happen. BOTTOM LINE: WHOEVER IS BOLD AND KIND ENOUGH TO RUN A PRINT EXCHANGE GETS TO SET THE RULES!
