I have the 2450 and have not been pleased with the results the few times I've tried to scan 35mm black and white negatives. The occasional black and white prints I've scanned have turned into very nice digital files, but the film scans have been soft and mushy compared to the scans from prints. This is based on only a few scans of each type, and from one with very little scanning experience in general, so take it FWIW.
