Re: [Digital BW] Photo Rag longevity versus EHM with Epson dyeinks?

2002-07-14 by Jerry Olson

Hi Bill,

I've been using the Generations/MIS archival color pigments for a couple
years now. I'm very happy with them. It's just that I just ordered
another 1280 and am going to stick with the epson inks for that printer
for a while. i have the MIS archival color inks in the 1160 now, with
generations black. Wonderful quality. But I figure the 1280's 26 year
life will do fine for my color needs. If I ever convert it to black inks
only, I'll get another nomorecarts CIS system and go that way in the
1280. But first, I'm going to see how high the quality of black and
white prints are with it with a profile for epson inks.

In the past 5 years, I've had 3 CIS systems and 3 printers die on me. I
don't know if there is a connection or not. My current 1160 is 3 years
old, and still going just fine.
