Clunk, clunk, clunk, wrrr...

Help, my epson 1200 Stylus Photo just started to go clunk, clunk etc. 
(not head banging!).  The gray traction rod under the paper is not 
advancing and (of course) the paper is not advancing correctly.  Any 
help?  I hate to loose this old workhorse.
