Renaming 1270 for Piezo Driver

I have a 1270 in addition to a couple of 1280s. In trying to keep my system
as flexible as possible regarding inksets I'd like to be able to use the
1270 with the Piezo driver, even though it is not officially supported. Has
anyone had success renaming a 1270 so that the Piezo plugin recognizes it?
I'm on a MacĀŠand I've read Nij's explanation for doing this on a PC. But
that doesn't seem to offer much help for the Mac folks.
