Well actually, that is interesting. The prints I have been printing aren't that much different from the ones I am now getting with the heads
properly aligned. Even though the heads weren't aligned correctly, there must be a lot of wiggle room. I have never seen banding on the
1280.  It sure does take a long time to align the heads on the 1280. Nearly an hour.
