RE: [Digital BW] Epson 2200 Has anyone used one yet?

2002-08-01 by Shire,Stanley

I have used one (a beta unit) and, out of the box, the prints (I was
printing both grayscale and RGB) the output was very nice. (I do print
with both a 1270 and Gen4 inks and a 10000 archival so I have some basis
for comparison). The grayscale images (printed with just black ink and
then with all 7 inks) looked slightly warm with the 7 inks. This was
with Epson's canned profiles. After we used these profiles, we built
some profiles with a Spectroscan and there was a slight improvement but
not a huge one. The printer was fast enough and VERY quiet. Granted, we
had a very short time with the printer, but my initial impression was
very positive. I'm buying one.
