Julian, Back in the earlier and mid 70's I sprayed a bunch of my silver prints that were mounted on black board with Kyrlon spray primarily to try and keep the black of the mattes black. The prints have spent most of their life in boxes but some 30 years later things seem to be fine. My mother used a lot of Krylon on pencil and charcoal sketches and they are also doing well. Not hard data but maybe it will give you some reassurance.
