The 1200 works very well with the Roark VM inks and curves. I've been using one for about a year now. Occasionally there is very very fine microbanding, but it's cleared up with a quick head cleaning. The 1200 is, however, reputed to have the problems Carolyn mentions with the Piezo software; so if you go that route the 1280 is much better. The advantage of the 1200 is that the CIS doesn't need a chipped cartridge, and, of course, if you already own one, you don't need to buy a new printer (which was my reasoning).
