Jann, I agree with Antonis and Jerry but want to point out that right now the only existing workflows for the MIS VM inks are for the Epson 1160, 3000 and 1280. You mention you do your own profiling so that may not be an issue for you. I would forget the EX and suggest you spring for a 1280 over the 1200 if the budget will handle it. I am running both and the 1280 is faster, quieter and has fewer (as in no) feeding problems. With either one you would have the option to try the Piezo inks also. The CIS from MIS does not have any chips on the cartridges and you have to go through this cumbersome routine to fool the printer into thinking it has chipped cartridges. Check it out on their website. The NoMoreCarts CIS has chips and all you have to do is click to accept the fact that you are using non-Epson cartridges. Mine pops up every day when I go to print for the first time. A small annoyance but better than the MIS solution. If you are looking at B&W printing for SpectraTone Quad inks from: http://www.lincolninks.com/ I was very impressed by their sample prints on a 1200. Wonderful color and tone to the prints. This would be my first choice for commercial work.
