FWIW, I have strung to 6 foot cables together for my 1160 without any
problems.

In my haste of reading through the manual quickly, I missed the caveat of an
"unshielded" cable of over 6 1/2 feet causing printing problems. It did not
specify what the problems would be, but I guess if the cable is shielded,
there shouldn't be any problems.
