Re: USB cable length

2002-08-15 by Garth Ritchie

mark,

following is a quote from the www.cablesnmor.com website (they have tons of
odd cables and connectors that do stuff you've probably never considered).
sounds like the exact thing you need (U$21)... note the fact that they say
you can string 5 together for a combined length of 80 feet!

hope this helps,

garth

The USB standard limits the length of a usb cable to 5 meters (about 16.5
ft.).
* This active extension allows you to extend your webcam, printer, etc.
beyond that limit.
* The length of this high quality cable is 16' (4.8m)
* You can combine up to 5 of these cables for a maxium distance of 80
feet.
* Made with gold connectors and flexible cable.
* Foil and braid shielding is used to reduce EMI/RFI interference.
* Low capacitance cable to reduce transmission problems.
* Plug & play - no drivers required.
*    USB 1.1 compliant.
*    PC/MAC compatible.
*    Manufactured by GoldX
