Jann, Actually I think the SpectraTone Quad inks would be great for doing a cartridge refill approach. All the concern over cartridges, air bubbles and clogs has to do with the pigmented inks. With dye based ink get some virgin empty cartridges, ink and a refill kit and you are in business. If you like them and start printing in volume, refilling will probably become a chore but to try them out this would seem to be the least expensive path. $13.45 for a set of empty cartridges from MIS, $10 to $15 for the equipment to do the refills and $180 (6 x $30) for the ink. I would check with Lincoln Inks to see if you need to run cleaning cartridges or not. The statement "4oz bottles $30@ bottle (not interchangable with NoMoreCarts Nalgine)" just means that they use a different bottle for their inks than the standard bottles that are part of the CIS system so you would have to pour the ink from the Lincoln bottle into the CIS system bottles. Cleaning cartridges do not come with the NoMoreCarts CIS. If you want glossy this is the way to go. Closer to an RC look than fiber but excellent quality. They have some art papers you can print on too. Contact them and see if you can get some of their sample prints. The print color is different from the Piezo and MIS. A cool, heavy selenium tone. If you look back on the list I reviewed some sample prints they sent me. If you go with them please keep us posted on your progress and opinions.
