At 600-700 for the 2200 and 500 for the imageprint s/w, I'm not sure how 
good an option it is when compared to say a 1280 set up for B&W if you 
prime focus in B&W. If the s/w were less, i.e. as you say Epson bundled 
or there was a deal struck with Epson then it would be a much more 
attractive option.

That nonwithstanding, since there can be neutral prints made with the 
2200 (and I also assume that "toned" prints can be made), I find myself 
putting off any action on a printer until the dust settles. At least for 
a little while.
