Re: [Digital BW] Problem -- line of dots on prints

Chris,

Something else to try. You might have some ink saturated lint or other dirt
on the bottom of the head or print head carriage. You will need to release
the print head so that you can manually move it back and forth. I am not
sure how this is done on the 1160 but you should be able to do it by pushing
the proper buttons for moving the head to the cartridge changing position
and then unplugging the printer without turning it off.

Put some paper towel with Windex or IPA and water in the trough where the
head runs back and forth. Manually move the head across the paper towel to
wipe off any debris. You will probably have to change the paper towel a few
times. Thin sponge dishwashing cloth is better than paper towel if you can
find it. While the head is out of the way you may want to wipe off the
parking pad in case it has become over saturated with ink. Before you plug
the printer back in make sure the head is all the way back to its normal
start position, not the cartridge loading position.

Do nozzle checks and head alignment.
