Tim, The Satine has some texture. More than EAM, more than Museo, less than William Turner, less than Somerset Enhanced, much less than Torchon. A compromise between smooth and texture. The Velvet is smoother but it is a soft, well, velvet smooth. I had trouble printing color on the Satine with Epson inks. I had to lower the brightness of the image by 60-70% and up the contrast about 10% to get reasonable ink density. So just get some samples.
