As others have already said, unless you printed with black ink only, b/w 
prints have a terrible color cast that differs under different lighting 
conditions.

If you print with black ink only, I think the prints looks pretty good on 
Epson Archival Matte or the Epson Watercolor paper. But if you get up 
close, you can see dots in the image. I also never got a decent looking b/w 
print from the 2000P using other paper (but I also never bought profiles 
for other paper, either). A small number of people like the 2000P b/w 
prints using black ink only. There is an article on one such photographer 
on www.luminous-landscape.com (I think the article might be in Mike 
Johnston's 37th Frame section).

I've gone the 1280 route for b/w printing, leaving the 2000P for possible 
color printing one day.
