I have been using a 2000P for printing BW (with a CIS) for about two months now. I first tried the MIS-VM inkset but had bad posterization. Don't know enough about curve modification to solve the problem so switched to MIS FS-N inks in combo with the John Woolf workflow. The results are excellent. I also run a 1280 with PiezoTone warm-neutral inks. The 2000P prints have similar tonal range on EAM, though the blacks seem a tad deeper with the Piezo system. However, for many images, the warm Piezo color just won't do.... My 2000P sat on a closet shelf for almost a year after I became disenchanted with the effects of metamerism. Now I am making (and selling) nice prints with the machine -- which, by the way, is not as slow as some people suggest. Personally, I think it's worth the trouble to set it up for BW; mine has paid for itself already! BJM
