Actually the lower level Nikon Coolscan IV ED (LS-40) scanner is very good and also equipped with Digital ICE. I would love to have the Canoscan as well for my friend to use but the Nikon version is worth the additional features. And Kodak Portra is quite a blessing! Smooth gradations which one can't resist :)...
