Hi Jerry and Julian- Jerry, AFAIK, you would only have to profile your monitor to a 2.2 workspace. In my system, I use Optical to profile my monitor (also a Mitsubishi ;^), using Adobe98 as the target profile- with a 2.2 gamma and D65 color temp. My default PS workspaces are A-98 for RGB and 2.2 for GS. I have never seen a convincing argument for or against 1.8 or 2.2- for me it's primarily one of compatibility- most modern equipment (recent scanners, digicams, etc.), seem to be set to a 2.2 space by default, so in cases where no profile is applied, or is unknown, a 2.2 space will result in fewer "upsets." On the other hand, when I scan with a older Scitex scanner (designed for a Mac system), I assume the gamma to be 1.8, and set my monitor to match until I convert to a 2.2 space in PS. But what do I know... I'll wait 'til some helpful soul shows me why I'm half-baked ;^) Bill Morse PhotoProspect Cambridge, MA 02139 on 8/30/02 12:20 PM, Jerry Olson wrote: > I have a Mitsubishi with a trinitron tube, and I have always used 1.8 > gamma.
