RE: [Digital BW] Best 35mm BW scanner thinking

2002-08-31 by Larry Roohr

The Tf is an upgrade to the T. Scans in 42 bits instead of 36, and claims
Dmax of 4.3, heh heh ya right, that just means they improved the shadow
response over the 4000t. It also has multi-pass scanning for reduced noise
in the shadows, this may be where some of the improved dynamic range specs
come from, who knows, ooops...lets not go there <g>.

I just ordered one (a 'T'), been shooting a lot more 35mm lately and I'm not
happy with my Agfa T2500 performance for that format. The price is right!

Odd, the B&H site shows two 4000's, the 4000t and the 4000tf, with
the tf costing about twice as much.
