From Paul's test the grays held up so well I would have to say that the colorant there is a pigment. On the black I have to wonder. Jon Cone has described the additive to increase the Dmax as "dye stuff" although I believe is actually a pigment but it is fading as if it were a dye. Whatever it is, it is dying in Paul's fader in a fashion similar to Gen. black.
