Frank, you might get Dan Burkholder's book on making digital negatives (www.danburkholder.com). It comes with a CD with various compensation curves for making negs for silver or alternative prints. I got some fairly good pt/pd prints, but the paper used with those hides a lot of faults that silver paper doesn't. The trick is that you have to find a high-end imagesetter, and an operator that is skilled and will take the time for your project. Also, with imagesetter negs you're talking about contact prints, not enlargements. You're probably better off outputting to film though that is $$$.

Subject: [Digital BW] What's the latest on digital negativess ?
A few of my images prepared as digital files have been accepted at a
stock photo agency. The catch is that they do not want digital files
OR my carbon pigment b&w prints (with my existing agency I can simply
send them images on cd). They want traditional b&w silver prints. So
now I need to figure out the best way to make B&W negs from the
files - and then I can have regular prints made.
Anyone have experience to share ?
thanks,
Frank
