As I understand it, TCN was tweaked for general scanning and silver halide prints, while PortraBW was tweaked to print neutrally on Professional level color papers, and to scan and print well in batches with other Portra films in a processing workflow The t400CN is a bit more contrasty... as with XP2, the Kodak chromagenic B&W films can be pushed or pulled to increase or decrease contrast significantly.
