Digital BW, The Print

Does anyone have the definitive answer on whether the technology in the 2200 
is the same as the 7600?  

A post on dpreview.com states that the 2200 is less sophisticated and lays 
down the ink droplets in a different way.  The person claims that the 2200 
needs more magenta ink to render a B+W print, and this results in greater 
metamerism with the 2200.  He claims the Gray Balancer does a great job in 
producing neutral grays under a specific light source but cannot totally 
eliminate metamerism.

I was reading a British magazine review of the 2200 vs. the Canon 9000.  It 
gave a slight edge to the 2200.  Of interest was the great review it gave to 
Gray Balancer for B+W prints.
