Cleaning carts I have never had success with, >they are misnamed- only for switching inks, not "cleaning". The MIS carts I had in mind are just clear base -- call it flushing fluid. The point is not to clean the head. I agree the Epson OEM solvent is better. However, I suspect the clear base might be better than any ink -- even Epson dye -- when it comes to avoiding the problem of dried ink clogging the head. My suggestion gets rid of all the ink. Several people have suggested the plugs for the CIS that are probably the same as the NoMoreCarts plugs I was using when the old CIS killed my print heads. I have not heard any suggestions yet that would stop the ink from drying out right through the CIS tubes. That is why I suggested draining the tubes. I'm wondering if an alternative that would be much easier is to put the CIS in a Zip lock bag, perhaps with a damp sponge to keep the humidity high -- just a wild thought here. I have no successful experiences with old CISs that have been sitting around a while. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
