Re: Horizontal lines

2002-09-21 by Peter VG

Hi Andy,

I occassionally see the same banding with my epson 1200 using MIS VM
inks. What i found was that checking the heads using the epson
software does not always work, eg. nozzel check looks good but
actually you have a clogged head. I now print part of the purge
files avaliable on the MIS site to see if my heads are clean. I use
about 1/4 of the purge file and rotate it 90 degrees. If one nozzle
is clogged you will see it and which color it is happening with.
Then you just running cleaning cycles until it goes away. I find
that i have to do this every few days if i am doing a lot of
printing. When you get a perfectly smooth purge print then you know
your ready to stick in a piece of expensive paper.

Peter
