Well, I was just about to convert my 1280 to a dedicated BW printer with the Pieziography CIS kit and lo and behold I read in Luminous Landscape that the 2200 really does a great job with BW ( http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/printers/2200-bw.shtml ).
