Lew,

From how you describe your work and the need to do both B&W and color from
the same printer, you might want to push your budget up include the Epson
2200. I would try and get a look at the output first though to see if the
quality is what you are looking for.

Below the Epson 2200 the 1280 would be the place to go as others have
mentioned. Keep in mind that the Epson dye inks for the 1280 do not have a
very long display life so give some consideration as to how long you need
your prints to last. Here again the 2200 would give a big edge.

The other choice would be a 1280 with a CIS and an alternative color ink set
such as Generations or MIS Archival. If you are going to work in volume the
Epson cartridges will eat your wallet alive!

printer 882c and need to seriously upgrade. I do digital art with Photoshop
7 and Bryce with the emphasis on the Surreal, abstract and manipulation
primarily with the female nude in color and B&W. I print and frame most of
my work and have reached the point where I wish to start utilizing better
professional paper and possibly larger then 8x10 prints as I want to see if
I can sell any. I would prefer not to have a curve type feed so that I can
avail myself of the heavier stocks. I would also like to print from my
digital camera.

This must be able to accept different types of paper and allow me to reduce
the excessive cost of ink by shopping the internet (not much available for
HP). The second problem is where to obtain. I reside in a gambling Mecca,
but except for Wal-Mart, K-Mart and Office Depot I must drive 90 minutes to
shop for supplies. Please let me know if there is a reliable and inexpensive
source available on the net. Also reliable sources for ink and paper (need
help on types to use also).
