Keith,

Sounds like exactly what I'm getting except my lines extend only into and
beyond the left margins and I'm using OS9.2.  I'm thinking that it's a
printer/mechanical problem vs. driver/software corruption.

Have you checked your 3000 in to Epson Service?

I'm having a similar problem with my 3000. Very fine black lines going the
width of the print. Sometimes they extend past the left or right margin of
the 
actual image. Under a loupe they are fairly consistent dots, not smears. My
issue is not specific to a certain scan and happens in Piezo or straight
printing 
from PS7.

I'm afraid it is the printhead or possibly a controller board.
