Re: [Digital BW] Re: Black Lines (not banding) on 3000 - HELP

Keith,

Same here.

It's seems that the lines starts about 1/2" into the image and then
sporadically after that. I tried different print sizes and encountered the
same problem. Interesting thing is that the lines continue about a 1/2"
BEYOND the end of the image area.

Please let me know what you discover and (cringe) the repair estimate.

Rick,

I'm almost certain that it is a printer/mechanical issue as this same
printer has exhibited the lines from two different Macs. One was a G4
desktop running OS9.1 and PS6 the other a G3 powerbook running OS9.2
and both PS6 and PS7. The only consistency was the printer itself and
the Epson USB to Parallel cable.

I was able to lessen the occurrence of the lines with several
cleaning cycles. But after one 6"x6" print with no lines they have
returned. I'm running the original Piezo inks so I'm not absolutely
sure which jet is causing the problem.

I'm planning on ordering a service manual but does anyone have
recomendations for a service center in the Washington, DC area?
