This is the only post I saw on this so I don't know the thread. But I'll just jump in and say that if you're using an f-16 you probably have an 1270/1280/1290. AFAIK, only the 1160, 860, maybe 3000, etc has a switch. The chipped printers sense the cart through the chip so you don't have to push on a switch. Watch out for blowing out chips (and therby sending f-16 into a tizzy) if you pull up or push down on carts slightly- if printer is not turned off and unplugged, there is a fair chance you can blow out the MIS chips and you would then have to get free new ones from MIS and install. In fact, this is what the cart clamps help alot in preventing (red light errors when carts ride up). I don't know what problems you were having but if you don't have the modified cart clamps, you should get them- they work like a charm and are cheap, easy to install. $10 US for both.
