Is it because of the coating? > > AW Albert, This is one of the great difficulties in achieving neutral or close to neutral B&W prints with the standard Epson inks or any color ink set. In order to really optimize it you will probably need some custom printer profiles made that match your printer and inks to the papers you want to use. Generally most people in your position have wound up dedicating another printer to B&W printing using one of the grayscale ink sets. The new Espon 2200 might offer you a better path for a single printer but custom profiles or software such as Image Print would still be desirable. Martin Wesley
