Albert,

This is one of the great difficulties in achieving neutral or close to
neutral B&W prints with the standard Epson inks or any color ink set. In
order to really optimize it you will probably need some custom printer
profiles made that match your printer and inks to the papers you want to
use.

Generally most people in your position have wound up dedicating another
printer to B&W printing using one of the grayscale ink sets. The new Espon
2200 might offer you a better path for a single printer but custom profiles
or software such as Image Print would still be desirable.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your advice. Of course doing color prints is just as hard
as black and white printing to be honest :)... I'm just trying to
figure out how to do better matte prints.

Using the PhotoEnhance4 option very well and the colors turned out a
lot better :)

Thanks for your advice.

Albert,

I find color printing much harder myself. I just don't have any feel for
making color corrections. The technology is much better for color printing
though.

I'm glad you found something to help with your problem.

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean? I read other messages too,
suggesting this printer (in Europe it's called the 2100 AFAIK) can have
both. Does it have the possibility of several gray / black inks AND
several color inks? I thought it was only black and gray, and color.
Confused, Ton Guiking
