Lyson profiles -- and my postscript 1160...
2002-10-10 by Keith Cooper
Hello I've recently moved my file/print server up to Mac OS X 10.2.1, it has my Small Gamut 1160 attached. Using the latest Mac OS X drivers from Epson I'm finding that my (Lyson) icc profile for Lyson satin/glossy paper is giving a smoother greyscale ramp than before. Printing with the older drivers always produced bit of a kink in the 95-98% region, such that I was seriously looking at getting a custom profile. Now I'm not so sure... On another matter I've finally installed gimp-print and espgs, so that my 1290 and 1160 can also be used as postscript printers! I've only had a few quick tests of the set-up, but the range of options, along with the ability to directly print CMYK look interesting. If anyone has any experience of this please let me know your impressions. bye for now Keith Cooper Northlight IT Ltd http://www.Northlight-IT.com http://www.Northlight-images.co.uk Tel +44 (0)116 291 9092 Mobile +44 (0)780 162 9397 <<<I posted this message yesterday, but did not see it in any digest.
