Interesting, What I know is that Foveon chips are designed for both video and still image capturing (see "Variable Pixel Size" figure @ http://www.dpreview.com/news/0202/02021102foveonx3tech.asp) One more point is that... if the hardware is different in digital still imaging and digital video - as you imply - how does my Casio digital still camera (and many others) is capable of capturing video?
