Julian, Allen sent me some sample prints but I can't seem to locate them at the moment. I do have a print he sent in one of the exchanges. The metamerism is mild to non-existent in this print from a 3000 on a glossy paper. Very neutral in daylight and shifting towards magenta-red warm under tungsten but nice looking in both and in mixed lighting. The 3000 print and sample on glossy paper do show some dot pattern in the highlights as you might suspect. I remember that the 1200 example was much smoother and pretty much dot free as was the 3000 prints on a watercolor paper. I always thought this was a good ink set, especially for people who wanted to use glossy papers. If they had done a set of RGB separation curves for the 1160 and 1280 for Epson and Hahnemuhle papers I suspect they might have sold more ink. I know I would have given it a try. Contact Allen and see if he will send you some samples.
