Digital BW, The Print

Has anyone tried printing quadtones (or hextones) using the latest (for 
OS 10.2) gimp print release?  There is a "quadtone" setting in the 
driver, but I'm not sure how it should be used with specific inksets.  
According to this excerpt from the release notes it is still beta:

"Quad tone grayscale inks, such as the Piezography (TM) inks, are
      now supported for most Epson Stylus printers.  This is not tuned
      for a particular inkset at this time, so the results will not be
      of top quality yet.  This capability should be considered beta."
