Ed, I've fixed this problem (I mistakenly installed a cart without the chip). Try using a loupe for magnification and an exacto knife to bend them back into place. I've been using the repaired 1280 for almost 4 months with no problems, though I have to admit I installed a CIS as soon as I could in order to minimize the cart exchanges.
