The 2200 may eventually be a better solution, but you'll have to wait a while. It's still unproven, and the CIS's for it have yet to ship. In the meantime, you'll have to do a lot of your own R&D for curves and B&W inksets. If you want to start printing tomorrow, get the 1280. You can get the Piezo driver, a CIS, some ink, and start churning out half decent prints a few minutes after you plug it in.
