The scanner and software combination you are using may do a better or worse job than post scanning in PS. It may work different depending on film type. Or, a combination of pre and post scanning (my choice with SilverFast) may be best. The scanner interpolates anyway so it seems to me the better software might might also do a better job of sharpening "inside" the interpolatve process. AZ Build a Lookaround!
