>How rich is the D-Max on a photograph printed from the Epson 2200 >supposed to be compared to a true photographic print? I just loaded some UC Matte black into my 1160 for testing. On EAM it is slightly darker (density 1.69) than the MIS VM/FS black (1.6), but not as black as a photographic print (1.9 for my silver prints). However, I then coated the EAM with a #30 rod and polyurethane (acrylic would do the same I assume). Then the DMax hit slightly over 2 -- higher than my silver prints. With Legion Photo Matte, the Dmax with UC Mat-K was 1.61 uncoated and slightly over 2.3 coated with the #30 rod and PUR -- a serious black. The #30 and PUR coating gives the LPM a very "air-dried-silver-print" look. (Too bad about all those optical brighteners in LPM.) Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
